Overview

Welcome to South Dakota's Platte Creek Lodge. Come and enjoy our spacious lodge with your friends and or family. Just 1 and 1/2 miles west of downtown Platte, and minutes from the area golf course, and the beautiful Missouri river, Platte Creek Lodge's ideal location will offer you a wonderful base to enjoy the areas attractions such as fishing, hunting, golfing, boating on Lake Francis Case, or shopping in one of the many wonderful shops in Platte.

Fishing

Come join us on beautiful Lake Francis Case on the Missouri River in Platte, SD. Our river system has an abundant supply of walleye and small mouth bass, with an occasional Northern Pike smacking your line. The walleye that live in this river system range from 15” to 28”, with a lot in the 16”-18” range, great eating fish. For your South Dakota walleye fishing trip we tend to either jig, drift with jigs or bottom bouncers, or troll crank baits to entice great fish.

We fish how you like to, as it is your trip. Your guide will work with you to decide on what is working best at that time. In addition to catching fish your Platte Creek Guide will help show you the sites and share history of the mighty Missouri River. We will clean and vacuum seal your fish to allow your walleye to be as fresh as the day it was caught.

Rates

Walleye Fishing Packages:

• One Day Fishing Package: Guide/Boat - all tackle and bait are included. 1-2 people.
• Two Day Fishing Package: 2 days & 3 nights of lodging - 2 days of guided fishing - All bait and tackle - Fish cleaning - Breakfast, boat lunch and dinner are included. 2 person minimum.
• Any additional days & rates for non-fishing guests please call or email us for more information.
• Please note you will have to purchase your license and any other non-inclusion items before arriving to Platte Creek Lodge, please view our Plan your Trip page for more details. All prices and packages are subject to South Dakota sales tax.

Lodging

Platte Creek Lodge can accommodate groups from 6 to 15 with the highest degree of comfort for all our guests. Our wonderful staff is available for groups who wish to be catered too, preparing delicious home cooked meals, and providing daily cleaning service (available upon request for additional fee). For those who wish to care for themselves, please feel free to use our kitchen as if it were yours.

About Us

January 2013 Tom and Nova Steinhauser purchased the lodge and became the new owners and operators. Both Tom and Nova have years of experience in the lodge business dating back to1988 at Thunderstik Lodge, located near Chamberlain, SD. Tom, a native of MN, has been guiding hunting and fishing for 20 some years.

Nova, coming from a family of 12, who all love hunting and fishing, has had years of experience cleaning and caring for people. She has 3 sons, Rocky, Riley and Rudy that love the outdoors as well, all residing nearby. Tom’s 2 daughters from MN: Ciarra and Courteney, who also enjoy coming out and visiting the area as well and even try hook a walleye or shoot a pheasant or two!
