Overview

Few places can match the excitement of Walleye fishing on Lake Oahe. The month of May brings with it the start of the open water Walleye fishing season. This season is a fast and productive one as the Walleye finish their spring spawn and turn their attention to feeding. The need for the hungry Walleye to feed and pack on weight makes their behavior predictable through August. Pair this natural instinct of the Walleye with the experience of our guides and you will have a fishing trip for the photo albums and the record book.

South Dakota Walleye Fishing

The comfort of a new six person pontoon boat along with great fishing on Lake Oahe and the beauty of the Missouri River makes any time on the river relaxing and entertaining. Two live wells on the boat ensure there will be enough room to keep your catch fresh.

Each fisherman is allowed to catch up to 4 fish a day with a maximum of 8 fish in their possession. Our guides are aware of the limits and will do their best to ensure that your party limits outs each day it is on the water. Extended fishing trips may need to have a fish fry for supper to ensure the group stays within the legal possession limits.

2018 Fishing Rates

3 Day Package - $700 per person + tax
This package includes 4 nights lodging, 3 days fishing, meals, guide, bait, tackle, cleaning and packaging of fish.

Day Rate - $150 per person + tax
This package includes 1 day guided fishing, transportation to the ramp, sack lunch, bait, tackle, cleaning & packaging of fish.

Complete Package - $200 per person per day + tax
This package includes lodging, meals, tackle, guide, cleaning and packaging of fish.

Do It Yourself Package - $75 per person per day +tax
This package is for the independent angler. Bring your own equipment and we'll provide you with an up to date fishing report, lodging and meals.

All packages require a 25% non-refundable deposit.

Prairie Pillow Lodge (Full Service Lodging)

The Prairie Pillow is an 8 bedroom full service lodge where visitors are able to relax and forget their worries and the daily chores of life. This a great choice for larger groups as meals are provided each day of your stay. The lodge also receives a daily sprucing while you are out enjoying the day on Lake Oahe Walleye Fishing or perhaps hunting the abundant Ring Neck Pheasant.

Rieger Creek Lodge (DIY Lodging)

The Rieger Creek Lodge is a 3 bedroom high-end lodge for smaller groups who like to create their own culinary masterpieces. Field lunch is provided but breakfast, supper, and daily cleaning is up to you. This option is great for those who love to cook or like to save a little money by doing things on their own. This package includes a fully guided hunt and exclusive use of lodge.

South Dakota Pheasant Hunts

The hunting land of Rieger Creek Lodge is the best-kept secret in South Dakota pheasant hunting. High bird counts, easy terrain, and strategically placed food plots help to draw the wild pheasants onto the land controlled by Rieger Creek Lodge. All of these factors combine to make hunting at Rieger Creek an exceptional experience.
